Marvin Vettori addresses April injury withdrawl, promises to smash ‘funny looking thing’ Brendan Allen

UFC middleweight contender Marvin Vettori is bummed an injury forced him out of a scheduled bout against Brendan Allen, but that hasn’t stopped him from talking trash about his would-be opponent.

Vettori (19-6-1 MMA, 9-5-1 UFC) was set to meet Allen (23-5 MMA, 11-2 UFC) in a UFC Fight Night headliner on April 6, but had to withdraw due to injury.

Recently, Allen posted a video to Instagram Reels with a side-by-side of him and Vettori at a UFC event, promoting the scheduled main event. Allen included the caption, “Let’s see if this sticks! #illbethere.” When news broke of the cancelation, Allen created another post, calling for matchups against other top middleweight contenders.

Apparently, that did not sit well with Vettori.

“The Italian Dream” explained his reasons for pulling out of the fight while apologizing to his fans, in what began as a straightforward confirmation of Thursday’s news. However, in the second half of the video, Vettori cut a promo on Allen, ripping him for talking trash, while promising to meet him inside or out of the octagon soon.

“And now, to my f*cking opponent, it’s on,” Vettori said in a video posted to Instagram. “You’re not gonna hide no more. I know I’m going to see you, either in the cage or not. I’ll see you around. I’m fed up with all your bullsh*t. You sit down in front of a computer and become Hulk, but when you’re like a quiet little girl, all smiles, trying to be nice. I punked you once already, you know that. You know I sat down and told you, you got knocked out twice by these two dudes. You know what happened over there, you funny looking thing, man. You look like you came out of a Griffin episode.

“It’s on. I’m your big shot. You’re going to beg me for another shot. I don’t give a f*ck about fighting you. I’m making you a favor. I’ll smash your face just because you look funny to me. That’s it, I’ll see you soon.”
