UFC 300 video: Alex Pereira unfazed by Jamahal Hill’s dinged-up moai prop

LAS VEGAS – The headliners of Saturday’s historic UFC 300 event got a first chance to size each other up in fight week following the pre-fight press conference.

In the main event of the monumental lineup, Alex Pereira (9-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) is set to put his light heavyweight title on the line for the first time against former champion Jamahal Hill (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC), who returns to action from the injury that forced him to relinquish the belt he’s looking for.

Both men have had some strong comments about what’s going to happen when they step into the octagon this weekend at T-Mobile Arena (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+), and the intensity showed when they got in front of each other.

Pereira, didn’t offer up many words, while Hill overflowed with fired-up language. Hill brought a moai prop with him, strung with a chain. The head, which Pereira has embraced looks like himself, was artistically destroyed and flew off the chain when Hill flexed. Pereira remained as stoic as the stone throughout the shenanigans.

Check out the video above to see the Pereira vs Hill staredown from Thursday’s UFC 300 pre-fight press conference.
