2024 PFL 2 video: Impa Kasanganay rocks Alex Polizzi all over cage before eventual stoppage

Impa Kasanganay is back in the win column in a big way.

In the 2023 PFL 4 headliner Friday at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Kasanganay (15-4) rocked and dropped opponent Alex Polizzi (10-4) several times before referee Marc Goddard stepped in at 3:29 of Round 1. The victory earned Kasanganay six points in the light heavyweight regular season standings.

Polizzi showed off an iron chin and unbreakable will as he absorbed hard shots from Kasanganay and tried to find his footing. Polizzi tried to grab for a foot and even worked for a leg lock at one point, but Kasanganay evaded with relative ease.

Once back up on the feet, Kasangany put the dagger – or several – into Polizzi, who was still standing at the time of Goddard’s stoppage.

With the victory, Kasanganay’s success post-UFC continues. He bounces back from a split decision loss to Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen in February. He moves to 7-1 in his most recent eight including a 2023 PFL light heavyweight title win over Josh Silveira that earned him a $1 million bonus check.

Polizzi loses his third fight in a row. He entered PFL from Bellator on a two-fight skid comprised of consecutive losses to Yoel Romero and Karl Moore.
