UFC 300 post-event facts: Max Holloway boosts records, resume with BMF title knockout

UFC 300 lived up to the hype and more on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the milestone event seeing eight of 13 fights inside the distance.

One of those finishes came in the main event, where Alex Pereira (10-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) dropped and stopped Jamahal Hill (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) in the opening round to defend his light heavyweight title for the first time.

The co-main event saw Zhang Weili (25-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) outpoint Chinese countrywoman Yan Xiaonan (15-4 MMA, 8-3 UFC) for a unanimous decision to retain strawweight gold, while the biggest highest of the night came from Max Holloway (26-7 MMA, 22-7 UFC), who claimed the BMF title with a mind-boggling last-second knockout of Justin Gaethje (25-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC).
