UFC 302 Odds: Makhachev, Strickland Big Favorites

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White had a busy post-fight press conference following the UFC 300 pay-per-view (PPV) event last weekend in Las Vegas (watch it here). Not only did he recap all the action that took place at “Pereira vs. Hill,” he also dropped a few major announcements.

Like Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29.

Prior to that bombshell, White unveiled the UFC 302 lineup for June 1 in Newark, NJ. Topping the card will be the lightweight title fight between reigning 155-pound champion Islam Makhachev and former interim titleholder Dustin Poirier.

Makhachev jumped out to a -500 betting favorite, according to BetOnline, with “The Diamond” opening as the +375 underdog.

The UFC 302 PPV co-main event will feature an important middleweight matchup between former 185-pound champion Sean Strickland and one-time title challenger Paulo Costa. “Tarzan” kicked things off at -215 against +185 for “The Eraser.”

Expect those odds to fluctuate (in both directions) as we get closer to fight night.

McGregor and Chandler are currently deadlocked at -110 apiece, though it should be noted that McGregor opened as a slight betting favorite. That means money came pouring in for Chandler, taking “Iron” from +130 to -110 in just a few hours.

Hey may even pull away and become the favorite by the time June 29 rolls around.
