Broken Toe? ‘Rotate It A Bit!’

How tough is Alex Pereira?

The Brazilian took a foot to the goolies during the UFC 300 main event but refused to let referee Herb Dean call a halt to the action. “Poatan” was too busy setting up Jamahal Hill for the first-round knockout, retaining the light heavyweight title in the process.

This new footage may have that beat.

“You guys don’t know this yet but I’ll tell you: I just found out when I went up in the Octagon because I saw [Pereira] messing around with his foot — he broke his toe two weeks ago,” UFC CEO Dana White said during the UFC 300 post-fight press conference (watch it here). “He fought tonight with a broken toe. I thought he broke his toe in the fight. His team was like, ‘No, he broke his toe two weeks ago.’ He was like, ‘I ain’t losing this opportunity for a f***ing pinky toe.’”

His team tried to smash it back into place — to no avail.

Pereira, 36, was hoping to resurface at UFC 301 next month in Brazil but will likely remain sidelined until the promotion can scrounge up another contender (like this brute) later this year. Hopefully when “Poatan” does return, he can do so with all his digits intact.
