Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White dropped a UFC 300 diss tweet earlier this week, mocking the MMA media for its never-ending criticism of the “Pereira vs. Hill” fight card, which took place on April 13 in Las Vegas.

UFC 300 turned out to be one of the best fight cards in recent memory, thanks to standout performances from multiple fighters, including newly-crowned “BMF” champion Max Holloway and reigning 205-pound titleholder Alex Pereira, among others.

Former UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, suggests the media got what they deserved.

“He just goes to show you again he’s like, I’m the best promoter for a reason,” Usman said on his Pound 4 Pound podcast (transcribed by MMA News). “I’m the best promoter for a reason and here, let me show you the numbers. Everybody talked (expletive) about UFC 300, ‘oh it’s not what we want, it’s not what we got, blah blah blah, this and that’ but the numbers don’t lie and Dana wanted to put you, us, front and center with the numbers. Dana is like ‘y’all don’t know what y’all talking about, y’all stick to sitting on the couch talking while I stick to making these amazing fights’ and yep, Dana definitely 10-7ed the media with that one.”

Sounds like Usman, currently mired in a three-fight losing streak, is trying to earn another title shot.

White has long been at war with the MMA media, claiming “every one of those f—king scumbags are a bunch of unprofessional f—kng douchebags, they’re all awful.”

He may be right.

Unfortunately for White, he’s stuck with us because UFC, for all its financial success, still can’t attract “real” media. Probably because seasoned reporters and veteran journalists are too busy covering legitimate stories and can’t be bothered with garbage like this.
