During his heights in the octagon, Conor McGregor arguably became the biggest fighter in the combat sports world. Whether that was due to his trash talk or his ability inside the cage, the Irishman gained a large cult following and Sean O’Malley was amongst those fans.
While he wasn’t the first trash talker to find success under the UFC banner, ‘The Notorious’ did it to levels never seen before in mixed martial arts. His fame even earned him a shot at Floyd Mayweather, something that has since been chased by many MMA standouts.
In a now deleted post on social media, Conor McGregor fired shots at Sean O’Malley for his past drug failure and proposed a spar to the bantamweight champion.
“This ostarine, it reminds me of Sean O’Malley [because he] was on that as well,” McGregor said regarding Ryan Garcia’s failed drug test. “I don’t like this.”
“I’ll bust yous both up, do yous want a spar[?] I will set flights right now for you both for a full on spar each. Hotel, Black Forge Inn, the lot.”
“Two little ostarine heads. I’ll ride you both like yous are ostriches.”

This shifted O’Malley’s support for the Dublin native, forcing him to respond to the message.
“He just went on a little tweet rant,” O’Malley said during his TimboSugarShow podcast. “F***ing booger sugar’d up.”

“Talking sh*t, “I’ll fly you out to spar.” Yeah, right. I was more sad than mad. Now I cannot wait to see Michael Chandler absolutely sleep him. I’m turning up.”
“I’m changing up real quick. F*** Conor. When your idols turn to rivals… He obviously was probably on some good amount of fun stuff. I think the tweet got deleted pretty quickly. But, it is what it is, man. I cried for a little bit. I’m over it.”
