Conor McGregor requests ‘a 3 piece with soda’ after Jorge Masvidal’s UFC 244 win

Conor McGregor appears to want a fight with Jorge Masvidal.

Following his victory over Nate Diaz on Saturday in the UFC 244 headliner, new “BMF” titleholder Masvidal (35-13 MMA, 12-6 UFC) viciously rejected the idea that McGregor (21-4 MMA, 9-2 UFC) would ever sign a contract to share the octagon with him.

McGregor, however, might be eager to step up. On Sunday, he took to social media with an indirect but clear message to “Gamebred” using one of Masvidal’s own signature phrases (via Twitter):

Hey @BurgerKing, could I get a 3 piece with soda and a side chicken box please? Loads of salt and vinegar. Thanks

This isn’t the first time discussion of a Masvidal vs. McGregor fight has come up. There was speculation of a potential pairing after Masvidal scored his memorable knockout of Ben Askren at UFC 239 in July, but UFC president Dana White poured cold water on the idea, claiming “Gamebred” was too big for the Irishman.

McGregor has said he intends on making his return from a more than year-long hiatus at an unannounced UFC card scheduled for Jan. 18 in Las Vegas. He does not have an opponent set. Although Donald Cerrone appears to be the frontrunner, perhaps Masvidal’s win at UFC 244 could change things.

Earlier Sunday, McGregor also chimed in on the doctor’s stoppage after the third round of the Masvidal-McGregor fight, which he called “a classic.”

Excellent job Greg. Robbed of a classic there we were.
Cutmen in the corner must be more assertive when a fighter must stay still. Between rounds 1 and 2 a crucial moment of repair was missed due to movement.
Either way, solid fighting and onto the next… Me.
