Movsar Evloev reciprocates interest in Aljamain Sterling fight: ‘Brave for you to talk about me’

Movsar Evloev is intrigued by the idea of a matchup with former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling.

After former bantamweight titleholder Sterling (24-4 MMA, 16-4 UFC) made a successful featherweight debut at UFC 300 with a unanimous decision victory over Calvin Kattar, he mentioned undefeated contender Evloev (18-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) as a potential next fight.

“I think two grapplers, the way we grapple, it could be some very fun scrambles,” Sterling said on “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani earlier this week.

Evloev, who is coming off a unanimous decision over Arnold Allen at UFC 297 in January and is looking for another signature win to elevate his status and secure a title shot, was receptive to Sterling’s words.

He offered a response on social media, complimenting Sterling as “brave” for calling for a challenge that no one so far has passed.

“Brave for you to talk about me,” Evloev wrote on X. “I like it! Call UFC and fight me. I’m ready.”

Neither man shared a potential timeline for the matchup, but if it comes to fruition, it would add further depth to the 145-pound title picture, which is trending toward a next title fight between Ilia Topuria and BMF champ Max Holloway.
