Logan Paul Should Fight CM Punk

After defeating Paul in their rematch, YouTube celebrity KSI had some interesting career advice for his former rival.

KSI vs. Logan Paul 2 has come and gone, and I have to be honest with you: I’m starting to think these two YouTube #contentcreators may have been playing us all for money. Their first boxing bout back in August of 2018 seemed to have some real beef content. But after it sold an impressive 800,000 pay-per-views at $10 a pop, the rematch was all about the Benjamins.

Eddie Hearn and DAZN stepped in to handle the logistics, and the two fought to another rather inconclusive decision that saw KSI edge Logan Paul on points after the ref deducted 2 points from Paul for an illegal punch to his downed opponent (watch the highlights here).

During the post-fight press conference, Paul admitted he didn’t really want to hurt KSI like he claimed in all the pre-fight build up. And KSI, far from being a bad sport in victory, buttered Logan’s bread by throwing out a lucrative career idea for the Paul brother to take on next.

“Nah, nah, it’s done. It’s done, fam,” KSI said when asked if there’d be a third fight between the two. “It is done. It is done. It is done. Done. I’m onto the next thing, yo. Yo, you could do MMA, with the wrestling and stuff. You should fight CM Punk. I think that’d be a pretty funny fight!”

This isn’t the first time Logan Paul and CM Punk have been mentioned in the same breath. The UFC currently has Punk on the shelf if only (it seems to us) to keep him out of Bellator where he’d get booked in proper freakshow matches the former WWE champ might actually win. Against guys like Logan Paul?

Punk (real name Phil Brooks) has even commented on the idea in the past, saying he didn’t think Paul was famous enough.

”I’m not fighting Logan Paul,” he told MMA Fighting back in November of 2018. “I think this is one of the avenues where people will be like, ‘I don’t even know who Logan Paul is.’ Logan Paul is apparently a popular guy, but it’s not in any kind of avenue that I drive my car on.”

Chances of the fight happening in the UFC are low. When asked about Paul in the leadup to the first KSI fight, White didn’t mince words.

“He would get hurt badly,” White said. “Hurt badly. If I ever let him fight in the UFC, I should be arrested.”

Logan Paul had apparently planned to send an overture to White after beating KSI. Alas, that wasn’t to be.

“One-hundred percent, the first name that’s coming out of my mouth is Dana White,” Paul told Cageside Press. “I want to fight in the UFC. I think Dana White can make that happen. “I love MMA. I grew up wrestling. I was one of the best wrestlers in Ohio. No disrespect, but what the f**k am I doing? I’m using half of the skills I was training my whole life to do.”

So for now, CM Punk will have to keep waiting for the UFC to figure out what they want to do with him. In the meantime, he hasn’t sat idle. He stars in a new horror movie that came out one week before Halloween, the surprisingly well reviewed haunted house flick ‘Girl on the Third Floor.’
