UFC on ESPN+ 23 reactions: Winning and losing fighters on social media

Since the early days when the sport was anything but a mainstream endeavor, the MMA industry has thrived and survived through various websites, forums, and – perhaps most importantly – social-media platforms.

Fighters interact with fans, each other and many more through the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, which helps outsiders get a deeper look into the minds of the athletes.

Following Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 23 in Busan, several of the winning and losing fighters, along with their coaches, training partners or family members, took to social media to react to the event or share a message with supporters.

Check out some of those reactions.

No excuses, I got caught. I felt very confident going into the fight tonight, probably too confident. I let myself down. I’m not upset that I lost, I knew eventually in my career this would come, but I am upset that I did things that prevented me from winning. I congratulate my opponent for capitalizing on those mistakes. 5 years in the sport never seeing the other side, it gives you the feeling that you’re invincible, but even the best can be broken. Before I walked out to the cage I was praying, and in my head popped “Trust in God’s plan, I promise you it’s worth it.”…Funny how you think you know the meaning of something until it quickly goes a different direction. Yes I fell down, but you better believe when I stand back up everyone will know. #dangeroustimes

Hey guys as most know or seen I didn’t get the W, got beaten by a better man tonight and I’ve got no excuses, I didn’t give up I wouldn’t give up but that’s just not good enough. I’m still smiling I’m in good spirits even with a broken heart. I’d just like to send thanks to all the people who have shown love and support and been with me on this journey. I’d like to thank my brothers who came to Busan with me @hitman_att @hillychams and my corners @joshtuuks and @ayychaych and biggest thanks to my hero my older brother, the man who’s raised me into the person I am today and shown me everything I know. Special shout out to my brother @kaansanchez sorry I couldn’t get the W for you bro! Love you heaps! Wanna say thanks to the bosses @danawhite @seanshelby and @mickmaynard2 sorry I didn’t do better but I hope everyone enjoyed the show, I’m so greatful and honoured to be apart of the greatest company in the world, I’m one of the few blessed people and I count my blessings everyday. Also to all my supporters please don’t entertain the bad comments, let them talk cause without them there would be no views, everyone’s entitled to their opinion and I always take the good and the bad. I may not have been victorious in the cage but I’m victorious in life. Till next time ❤ @ufc @ufcanz – – #Australiantopteam #UFCbusan #UFC #MMA #stillsmiling

궁금해하신분들 많이계셔서.. 손목골절은 공격하다가 다친것같습니다 좀더 집중했어야됬는데..😭 그래도 mma 너무 재밌네요 더 잘할자신도 있고.. 누가어떻게생각하든 내가하고있는일, 내가 재밌고 내가 잘할자신감 있으면 되는거아닌가 싶은 생각이 드는것같아요 이번에는 아쉬운결과를 얻었지만 다음경기는 더 재밌게 더집중해서 다치지않고 승리까지챙기겠습니다 많이 응원해줘서 진심으로 감사드립니다 ‪ For those of you who worries about my wrist injury, i had a wrist fracture during punching, I should had been more cautious. ‬ ‪Nontheless, MMA is so much fun. Although i lost the fight but I feel like i can fight better next time. No matter what how other people think about it, I love my job, I love my sports and I know i always learn and get better thats all it is.‬ ‪Although I couldn’t get what i wanted for this fight, I will train harder and prove myself in the fight without injury. ‬ ‪Thank you from bottom of my heart for your support. ‬

응원해주시는 모든 분들께 정말 감사합니다🙇🏻‍♂️ – It was a victory that I had earned for so deeply, and it is all the more meaningful that I was able to have that win at UFC Busan. At the end of every match, I’m always reminded of people who have prepared so hard with me, and I am thankful. – I was able to have this valuable victory thanks to my MOB family who wanted this win as much as I did and did the preparing and fighting with me, my family that I love with all my heart, fans that came from afar to root for me, and everyone else who always helps me and cheers me on. I will always hold on to this gratitude and my desire for a win yesterday, and I will be a fighter that works even harder, gains experience, and always keeps om getting better. #MOB #TNS #RUBY #UFC #UFCBusan #UFC부산 #썬더버드 #무채색필름 #관세법인엘리트 #에너스킨 #유나이티드병원 #n2ragebarbershop

The Blue Corner is MMA Junkie’s blog space. We don’t take it overly serious, and neither should you. If you come complaining to us that something you read here is not hard-hitting news, expect to have the previous sentence repeated in ALL CAPS.
