“Oil can … oil can …”

ESPN analyst, Stephen A. Smith, angered the mixed martial arts (MMA) fanbase when he trashed longtime veteran, Donald Cerrone, for going down in flames against Conor McGregor in the UFC 246 pay-per-view (PPV) main event last weekend in Las Vegas.

Probably because Smith didn’t realize that “Cowboy” suffered a nose and orbital fracture from the “Notorious” beating and wasn’t just folding up like a cheap lawn chair. Then again, anyone who’s ever followed Smith understands that controversial takes are kinda his thing.

To help protect himself from any sort of physical retaliation, which can happen when you anger the wrong types of fans (just ask Chael Sonnen), Smith has gone full West World and created a robot to take his place in dangerous situations.

I know that sounds like a stretch, but I’m not sure how else to explain the slow, herky-jerky sparring on display in the video above. I haven’t seen movements that stiff since the “Happy Birthday Paulie” robot from Rocky IV.

Apparently I’m not alone:
