Current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, recently made the statement that a move over to WWE would be inevitable.

After all, there have been several former mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters who have traded in their gloves for wrestling boots. More recently former women’s Bantamweight queen, Ronda Rousey, and ex Heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez, made the move.

But not everyone is feeling Jon’s comments, including current WWE Raw women’s champion, Becky Lynch, had something to say about “Bones” coming over to the wrestling entertainment business.

“Inevitable? Oh, alright. That is a pretty big word. Look, I think people think this is a cakewalk. There is nothing like what we do. And it’s not as simply as just walking in here,” Lynch told ESPN’s Marc Raimondi.

“You have to make a name for yourself and you have to be obsessive with it. You have to love this. This isn’t a thing where you have one fight every six months. This is a thing where you are fighting three, four sometimes seven days a week, 52 weeks a year,”

Indeed, WWE’s grueling schedule is the stuff of legends, as spending time on the road is what can sometimes make or break a WWE hopeful. And paying one’s dues, says Lynch, is something everyone has to do if they want to make it in the game.

“For people to sometimes think it’s an easy thing to do, that they can just stroll into, it kind of irks me. It irks me. It does. Because I love this business more than anything. And if he loves it like I do, then come on then and I will show you the ropes,” she added.

“But if he doesn’t and if he just wants to make some easy money, this is not the way to do it.”

Of course, Jon isn’t talking about making a move in the immediate future, nor is he saying he’d even do it as a full time gig. Furthermore, he still has a lot he feels he needs to do inside the Octagon, as he hopes to add to his impressive streak of 14 straight champion fight victories.

Possibly against the winner of this fight.
