‘UFC 249 Embedded,’ No. 2: Justin Gaethje takes his dog for a walk

The UFC returns on Saturday after a two-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the organization’s popular “Embedded” series is giving a behind-the-scenes look at the measures being taken to put on an event under unprecedented circumstances.

UFC 249 takes place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.

In the main event, Tony Ferguson (25-3 MMA, 15-1 UFC) meets Justin Gaethje (21-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) for the interim lightweight title. In the co-feature, bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) puts his title on the line for the first time against former divisional kingpin Dominick Cruz (22-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC).

The second episode of “Embedded” follows the big-name stars at the top of the card. Here’s the UFC’s description:

Dominick Cruz recalls being thrown by Ronda Rousey and runs outdoors. Justin Gaethje walks his dog and plays pool between workouts. Tony Ferguson chooses an unexpected sport for cross-training in Jacksonville.
