Modafferi Gets ‘Lucky’ On June 20

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is bringing mixed martial arts (MMA) fans a flyweight showdown between Roxanne “Happy Warrior” Modafferi and “Lucky” Lauren Murphy, for what is expected to be a “Fight Night” event on June 20 at APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

That’s according to MMA Fighting.

Modafferi (24-16) upset the division apple cart with her unanimous decision victory over highly-touted prospect, Maycee Barber, at the UFC 246 pay-per-view (PPV) back in January. Murphy (12-4), meanwhile, recently won her second straight by edging out Andrea Lee at UFC 247 in Texas.

“Came home from practice to find a bout agreement in my inbox!” Murphy wrote on Instagram. “Signed, sent, delivered! LFG! You guys are going to love this fight, I can’t fucking wait to show you what we’ve been working on!”

The June 20 card is expected to be headlined by the heavyweight showdown between Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov. Elsewhere on the card, Gillian Robertson and Taila Santos go to war in flyweight action.
