Knockout! Watch Perez Smoke Formiga With Vicious Leg Kicks

Rising flyweight contender Alex Perez kept things rolling earlier tonight (Sat., June 6, 2020) at UFC 250 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, as he finished veteran Jussier Formiga via first-round TKO (leg kicks). The finish is just the 11th TKO win via leg kicks in UFC history.

Perez was hot straight out of the gate, landing whipping leg kicks to the outside of Formiga’s lead leg and busting up the right side of his face. Formiga tried to bite down on his mouth piece and chase Perez around the cage with offense but Perez was too strong and too fast. Eventually, Perez’s leg attacks took their toll and put Formiga down for good.

With this performance, Perez locks down his third-straight win at 125 pounds after losing a tough fight to Joseph Benavidez back in 2018. Perez is now 6-1 inside of the Octagon and looks to be on the rise in a division starving for new stars. One more win for the 28-year-old could lead to a title shot by year’s end or early into 2021, especially if he continues to do damage like this.
