Correia, Dunham Released By UFC

Two longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veterans have received their walking papers, as MMA Fighting reports that Bethe Correia and Evan Dunham have both been released by the promotion following recent losses.

Correia is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Pannie Kianzad at UFC Fight Island 3 last month, bringing her to 1-3 in her last four fights. Since 2016, “Pitbull” is just 2-5-1, bringing her overall UFC record to 5-5-1.

Bethe found success early on in her UFC career, winning three in a row which was good enough to earn a title fight against Ronda Rousey, which she lost in just 34 seconds. Bethe’s last win came against Sijara Eubanks in 2019.

Dunham, meanwhile, has lost three in a row and was last seen coming up short against Herbert Burns at UFC 250, losing via rear-naked choke (see it here). Prior to his recent skid Dunham was actually on quite a nice run, winning four in a row and fighting to a draw with top Lightweight contender, Beneil Dariush.

His release ends an 11-year partnership with UFC, which saw him fight a whopping 21 times, earning an 11-9-1 record.

Now, the two combatants are free to sign with whomever they please. And they don’t necessarily have to go back to the mixed martial arts (MMA) arena because I hear bare knuckle fighting pays really well these days.
