Pedro Munhoz will look to get back in the win column this Saturday night (Aug. 22, 2020) when he faces former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar, in the main event of UFC on ESPN 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Before then, we’re going to take a trip down memory lane to see one of the Brazilian bomber’s most-impressive victories so far in his UFC career. In March of 2019, Munhoz found himself staring down former Bantamweight champion, Cody Garbrandt, who was eager to get back on track after suffering back-to-back knockout losses to T.J. Dillashaw.

The action got started early, with Pedro looking to execute a leg lock attempt early in the round. After breaking free, “No Love” did all he could to keep the fight standing. What ensued was one of the best closing minute of any fight…ever.

With about 45 seconds remaining in the round, Munhoz and Garbrandt decided to throw caution to the wind and let the haymakers fly, trading shots in the enter of the cage much to the delight of fight fans everywhere. Naturally, a wild exchange like that usually doesn’t end well for one of the fighters.

Fortunately for Munhoz, he was the one who connected the cleanest shot during the wild flurry of strikes, clipping Garbrandt with a crushing right hand that dropped him like a sack of potatoes. A few follow up shots later and Munhoz found himself earning the biggest win of his career. Now, he will look to take out another former champion in Frankie Edgar in what will be his first-ever headlining bout.
