Couture Wrecks ATV, Needs Surgery

UFC hall of famer Randy Couture and his girlfriend Mindy Robinson wrecked their ATV on Monday night in Flagstaff, Arizona, according to TMZ, incurring injuries serious enough to send the 57 year-old “Natural” into orthopedic surgery.

UFC heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis can relate.

“As a result of the accident, later today, Randy will be having some orthopedic surgery,” Couture’s rep told People.com. “He (and Mindy) are expected to make a full recovery.”

It’s been a rough year for Couture, who nearly dropped dead of a heart attack last October. Hard to believe it’s been nearly a decade since the former two-division champion last competed inside the Octagon.

Despite his spot in the UFC hall of fame, Couture (19-11) does not have the best relationship with promotion president Dana White, to the point where “The Natural” — who went on to stump for Bellator MMA — was banned from cornering his son at any and all UFC events.
