Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will determine the next contender for the 145-pound title, currently held by reigning featherweight kingpin Alexander Volkanovski, when Brian Ortega collides with Chan Sung Jung in the UFC Fight Island 6 main event this Sat. night (Oct. 17, 2020) on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

A fight that is likely to end by way of knockout.

That’s according to striking coach Eddie Cha, who expects “The Korean Zombie” to showcase his hands against “T-City.” It’s no secret that Ortega is a talented grappler, but Jung is heavier and has been more active than his featherweight foe.

“Ortega is a game opponent but Zombie has been knocking everyone out as of late,” Cha told BJPenn.com. “We are just working on Zombie’s range and footwork just like we have been in the past two fights since we started working with him. He is now starting to set traps, he put on weight, and is a much better fighter.”

Jung (16-5) has won two straight and three of his last four, all by way of knockout/technical knockout. That includes last December’s destruction over Frankie Edgar at UFC Busan. Ortega (14-1, 1 NC), meanwhile, has not competed since losing to Max Holloway at UFC 231 nearly two years back.

“People are talking about how much better of a grappler Ortega is, but people don’t mention how there is a massive difference in striking,” Cha continued. “I think Zombie hits a lot harder than Max and Zombie is a great counter fighter. He lands the punches you don’t see and Max hit him a ton. If Korean Zombie can hit Brian Ortega a third of what Max did, Zombie is going to put him away.”

We’ll find out this weekend in Abu Dhabi.
