UFC 255 weigh-in results: Four flyweights hit marks for title fights atop card

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC 255 fighter weigh-ins, where the four title fighters atop the card hit their marks.

In the main event, flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo (19-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) puts his title on the line for the first time against challenger Alex Perez (24-5 MMA, 6-1 UFC). Perez was the first fighter to come to the scale during the two-hour official weigh-ins window and was 124.5 pounds. Figueiredo weighed in less than 10 minutes later and was 125 on the nose to make their headliner official.

In the co-main event, women’s flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko (19-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) is a huge favorite against challenger Jennifer Maia (18-6-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC). Shevchenko weighed in early in the window and was 125 pounds. Maia came to the scale a few minutes later and was 124.5 to finalize their bout.

Elsewhere on the main card, after publicly lamenting his weight cut earlier in the day on social media, and intimating he might be done with the sport, or at least done with welterweight, Mike Perry (14-6 MMA, 7-6 UFC) was well off the mark for his fight against Tim Means (30-12-1 MMA, 12-9 UFC). Perry weighed in at 175.5 pounds, 4.5 pounds above the welterweight non-title limit, with about 15 minutes left in the two-hour window. Means was the third fighter to weigh in and was 171. If he accepts the fight with Perry at a catchweight, provided the commission allows it, he will get a percentage of Perry’s purse.

The weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which has a main card on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2/ESPN+.
