BKFC Has No Interest In Silva Either

There was a time when Anderson Silva would’ve been the hottest free agent in the history of mixed martial arts (MMA). Fast forward to 2020 and “The Spider” is no longer with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after he was released from his contract following a knockout loss to Uriah Hall (see it here).

But other promotion’s aren’t knocking his door down in search of five minutes of his time. Instead, it seems every other major player in the combat game is passing on his services after “The Spider” announced he would love to fight again instead of retiring.

What a difference a couple of years and multiple loss makes.

After Bellator MMA, ONE Championship and Professional Fighter’s League (PFL) all stated that they would not be dipping into the free agent pool to sign Silva, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has followed suit.

“At this time we are not interested in Anderson Silva competing for BKFC. He’s a legend and I loved watching him fight. We need to concentrate on building our fighters already signed to BKFC,” Feldman told BJPENN.com.

Combate Americas, you in?

Anderson’s run since 2013 has been one of the greatest declines in the history of the sport, going just 1-7-1, which includes four knockout defeats. The former Middleweight champion’s last win came against Derek Brunson back in 2017.

With several big promotion’s passing on “The Spider,” Silva can still find work on the local circuit, as there are undoubtedly many local promotions who wouldn’t mind having one of the greatest to ever do it on its roster.

If all else fails, perhaps Silva can finally lock down his much-desired boxing match against Roy Jones Jr.
