It may not be the return that fight fans were hoping for, but former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson will still make his return to the ring later tonight (Sat., Nov. 28, 2020) live on FITE PPV from inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., when he meets Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition match.

Tyson, 54, hasn’t competed since a TKO loss all the way back in 2005. That 15-year drought left it difficult for Tyson to return in a sanctioned bout, which is why tonight’s contest will be considered an exhibition. It isn’t the most ideal way for “Iron Mike” to return to action given all the rules and regulations that came with an exhibition match, but the legendary fighter will still put the gloves on and exchange leather with another all-time great.

Fight fans around the world will be tuning in to see Tyson walk across the ring and try to take Jones’ head off, but what will they actually see when the main event gets underway?

• The bout will consist of eight rounds, two minutes each
• Neither fighter will be required to wear protective head gear
• Both fighters will be wearing 12-ounce gloves
• A cut to either fighter will result in the end of the fight
• Both Tyson and Jones Jr. have passed mandatory pre-fight drug tests
• Marijuana was not part of the pre-fight drug screening

• California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) will not score the fight or announce a winner
• Three former boxing champions (Christy Martin, Vinny Pazienza, and Chad Dawson) will be scoring the bout remotely. Their scores will not be official.
• Tyson weighed in at 220.4 lbs., while Jones tipped the scales at 210 lbs. (results HERE)
• The winner of Tyson vs. Jones will receive the WBC “Frontline Battle Belt”
