Alex Oliveira vs. Ramazan Kuramagomedov off Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 186

UFC Fight Night 186 has taken a hit.

Saturday’s event in Las Vegas will go on without a welterweight matchup pitting Brazilian Alex Oliveira against UFC newcomer Ramazan Kuramagomedov. The Russian fighter has been removed from the event due to illness and Oliveira will not get a replacement opponent.

MMA Junkie confirmed the news with sources following an initial report from MMA Fighting.

It is not yet known if the UFC will reschedule the bout for a later date or if the matchup itself will be scrapped.

Kuramagomedov (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was supposed to make his promotional debut on short notice. He was replacing Oliveira’s original opponent, Randy Brown. He’s unbeaten in his professional MMA career and has picked up wins in notable promotions such as PFL and ACB.

Oliveira (21-9-1 MMA, 11-7 UFC) was looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 254 in October. Prior to that, the 33-year-old was on a two-fight winning streak.

With the cancellation, the updated UFC Fight Night 186 lineup includes:
