New Rankings! ‘Bon Gamin’ Cracks Top 5

Undefeated UFC heavyweight up-and-comer Ciryl Gane continues to climb his way up the 265-pound ladder, recently cracking the Top 5 after last weekend’s unanimous decision victory over fellow division bruiser Jairzinho Rozenstruik. “Bigi Boy” dropped two places to No. 6, sandwiched between Alexander Volkov and Alistair Overeem.

Also making moves in this week’s rankings update is light heavyweight slugger Magomed Ankalaev. The 15-1 Dagestani was able to secure his place among the 205-pound elite by capturing a unanimous decision win over veteran “Miner” Nikita Krylov at APEX.

Here’s how the rankings are compiled:

Rankings were generated by a voting panel made up of media members. The media members were asked to vote for who they feel are the top fighters in the UFC by weight-class and pound-for-pound. A fighter is only eligible to be voted on if they are in active status in the UFC. A fighter can appear in more than one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champion are considered to be in the top positions of their respective divisions and therefore are not eligible for voting by weight-class. However, the champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.
