UFC free fight: Megan Anderson earns title shot with first-round knockout of Norma Dumont

It didn’t take long for Megan Anderson to make her case for a title shot.

The former Invicta FC featherweight champion looked to claim consecutive wins for the first time since joining the UFC roster when she took on Norma Dumont at UFC Fight Night 169 in February 2020.

Dumont came out with heavy pressure, stacking Anderson against the cage and working for the takedown. Anderson defended well, and eventually forced the action back into the center of the octagon. Just seconds later, Anderson delivered a piston-like right hand that dropped Dumont and finished the fight.

Anderson (10-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) returns to action when she challenges two-division champion Amanda Nunes (20-4 MMA, 13-1 UFC) for the featherweight title in the co-main event of UFC 259, which takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.

Before she faces Nunes, relive Anderson’s finish of Dumont in the video above.
