Ice, Ice, Baby (Too Cold)

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just a few days removed from its UFC 261: “Usman vs. Masvidal 2” pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place this Sat. night (April 24, 2021) inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

Where fans will be LIVE in attendance.

To help promote this weekend’s big shebang, the promotion has released Episode 1 of its UFC “Embedded” video series, featuring an up close and personal look at some of the biggest names on the card, including former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas.

“A lot of people say you don’t get physical benefits from an ice bath after three minutes, but she goes in for 10, 11 minutes at a time,” coach and fiancé Pat Barry said. “Doing the ice bath just for the physical recovery but it’s just the mental strength that you get from sitting yourself in a frozen tub without moving.”

I had a Frosty from Wendy’s last weekend so I can totally relate.

The 9-4 Namajunas battles reigning strawweight champion Zhang Weili (21-1) on the UFC 261 pay-per-view (PPV) main card, a five-round battle that could see “Rose” recapture her 115-pound strap.
