UFC books lightweight matchup between Jared Gordon and Joe Solecki for October event

October is four months away, but the UFC is already filling out the schedule.

Lightweights Jared Gordon and Joe Solecki will square off at a UFC event on Oct. 2. It is unknown whether or not this card will be a UFC Fight Night or pay-per-view, nor does the event have a publicly-known location or venue at this time.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking Monday but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Gordon (17-4 MMA, 5-3 UFC) has turned things around in his recent performances. After he lost three times in four fights from 2018-2019, Gordon won back-to-back unanimous decisions over Chris Fishgold and Danny Chavez.

Solecki (11-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) enters the bout on a six-fight winning streak including three wins in the UFC and a contract-earning performance on Dana White’s Contender Series. He most recently competed in April when he defeated Jim Miller via unanimous decision.

No other fights have surfaced for the Oct. 2 card at the time of publication.
