Taylor Johnson says getting weight down led to return to win column at Bellator 261

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Taylor Johnson left Lance Wright with a rude awakening to his Bellator debut Friday.

Johnson (7-2 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) took out Wright (5-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) with a first-round rear-naked choke on the prelims at Bellator 261. And to add a little proverbial insult to injury, Johnson fired some expletives Wright’s way after he got the tap.

After his win, Johnson talked about the little verbal barrage, what he wants next and how having a better weight cut helped his cause.

Bellator 261 took place Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card aired on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
