Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell was arrested and jailed on charges of domestic violence on Monday in Agoura Hills, Calif., according to TMZ, following an altercation with his wife, Heidi Northcott.

Bail was set at $20,000.

Liddell, who turns 52 in December, first walked away from mixed martial arts (MMA) back in summer 2010, but was lured out of retirement in 2018 for a trilogy bout opposite Tito Ortiz. “The Iceman” was melted in the opening frame and has not competed since.

His short-lived role as a UFC executive ended with ZUFFA’s sale to Endeavor.

This is the second domestic violence arrest for a former UFC light heavyweight champion within the last month. Jon Jones was previously booked in late September after getting physical with his fiancé in Las Vegas and is expected back in court on Oct. 26.

Jason “Mayhem” Miller was also jailed for domestic violence just a few weeks back.

Details are still scarce in the Liddell case but you can expect more information to start trickling in over the next couple of days, if not sooner. No statement yet from UFC President Dana White, Liddell’s longtime friend, or the promotion’s public relations team.

Stay tuned.
