Joselyne Edwards predicts Jessica-Rose Clark matchup has all the ‘elements of a good fight’

LAS VEGAS – Joselyne Edwards returns to the cage Saturday in Las Vegas when she battles Jessica-Rose Clark in a three-round bantamweight fight.

For Edwards (10-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC), she is coming off her first UFC loss, a unanimous decision defeat to Karol Rosa in February. Her opponent, Clark (10-6 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has only competed once since November 2019.

Both fighters are in different periods of their career, but both are motivated by their situations, according to Edwards. The urgency to win should make for a good fight, Edwards predicted.

“Actually, on my side, I’m the kind of fighter who likes to be prepared, myself, in the different areas,” Edwards told MMA Junkie at a UFC Fight Night 196 pre-fight news conference Wednesday. “I know she’s coming from a long break, but I’m coming for a loss at the same time. This is going to be good elements for a good fight.”

UFC Fight Night 196 takes place Saturday at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card streams on ESPN+. Check out Joselyne Edwards’ full UFC Fight Night 196 pre-fight news conference in the video above.
