Seungwoo Choi has championship aspirations ahead of UFC Fight Night 196

Seungwoo Choi hopes to extend his winning streak at UFC Fight Night 196 and move one step closer to a featherweight championship fight.

Choi (10-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) is currently in the midst of a three-fight winning streak. The South Korean fighter will attempt to make it four on Saturday when he takes on Alex Caceres (18-12 MMA, 13-10 UFC) at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The event streams on ESPN+.

The matchup should prove to be a good test. Caceres has nearly twice as many UFC fights as Choi has MMA fights overall. Choi, 28, intends to overcome that and show he belongs at the top of the division.

“People think he is an unpredictable fighter, but I searched his style and I think I am prepared for it,” Choi told MMA Junkie and other reporters through an interpreter at Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 196 media day. “I want to get this win then I can go forward to be champion. … I will do my best and I will make a great performance.”
