PHOENIX – Lucas Brennan has six Bellator wins, and four of them have been by chokes.
So it should come as little surprise if Brennan has a chance at an opponent’s neck, he’s going to take it. Brennan (6-0 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) finished Benjamin Lugo (5-5 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) with an arm-triangle choke just short of halfway through the first round at Bellator 273 at Footprint Center in Phoenix.
“If I’m around your neck, I’m pretty happy,” Brennan said after his win. “Position-wise, I’m pretty comfortable regardless of where you’re going to put me, jiu-jitsu wise. I don’t think anyone I’ve gone against has wanted to go to the ground at all.”
Brennan’s four submissions have come courtesy of two rear-naked chokes in hihs first two pro fights, an anaconda choke in June 2021, and Saturday’s arm-triangle win over Lugo.
