A true ONE Championship history maker returns to action Friday with one of his two belts on the line. But he may just be eyeing more history and a third.

Middleweight champion Reinier de Ridder (14-0) takes on challenger and welterweight champ Kiamrian Abbasov (23-4) in the “ONE Championship: Full Circle” main event. De Ridder’s middleweight title will be up for grabs.

In 2020, de Ridder challenged Aung La N Sang for his middleweight title and claimed the belt with a first-round rear-naked choke. Six months later, he moved up a weight class and went after La N Sang’s light heavyweight title. And while he couldn’t get a finish in the rematch, he outworked him to become a dual champ.

De Ridder made ONE history by becoming the first fighter to win two different belts against the same fighter. And if he defends the middleweight belt Friday, he may just have his eyes on the heavyweight title later this year.

In a special mini-documentary ahead of de Ridder’s Friday fight, Visubal sits down with de Ridder to talk about his two title wins and rise to prominence as arguably ONE’s best pound-for-pound fighter.

Check out the video below ahead of de Ridder’s middleweight title defense in Singapore.
