Video: Who has more to lose at UFC 272 – Colby Covington or Jorge Masvidal?

If we’re to believe what they’ve said in the buildup to UFC 272, there will be no salvaging the former friendship between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal after their fight is over.

Covington (16-3 MMA, 11-3 UFC) and Masvidal (35-15 MMA, 12-8 UFC) not only are former teaammates and training partners, but they once said they were best friends while living together as roommates. Now they’re part of one of the most heated rivalries in UFC history and finally throw down in the UFC 272 main event grudge match Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Covington could find himself in position to challenge for the welterweight title again if he beats Masvidal. A win for Masvidal might need to be accompanied by a little extra afterward if he wants to get back to a title shot. But nevertheless, the stakes are high for both fighters.

The question is, though, who has more to lose in the fight? Neither of them will be thrilled with a loss, given the nature of the rivalry. But who will be impacted in a more negative way when the other gets his hand raised?

That’s what we asked our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn and Danny Segura, who discussed the topic with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia. Check out their debate in the video above, and don’t miss this week’s complete episode below.

“Spinning Back Clique” is released each Tuesday on MMA Junkie’s YouTube channel. You can watch the full episode in the video below.
