UFC 272: Yan Xiaonan thinks she ‘clearly won’ Round 1 and 2 against Marina Rodriguez

Yan Xiaonan thinks she was robbed at UFC 272.

Xiaonan (13-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) lost a split decision to Marina Rodriguez (16-1-2 MMA, 6-1-2 UFC) this past Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. Only judge Derek Cleary scored the fight in her favor.

After a strong start by Xiaonan, Rodriguez rallied and capped the fight off with a strong third round. It was Round 2 that the judges had different opinions on. Two of them awarded it to Rodriguez. A disappointed Xiaonan took to social media to address the loss.

“I’m grateful to all supports from my lovely fans! Unfortunately didn’t get the W. Just rewind the fight, clearly I won 1 & 2 round. I will keep working hard. Much Appreciation to your endless support.”

The loss was a tough blow for Xiaonan, who after winning her first six octagon bouts has now lost two straight to former champion Carla Esparza and Rodriguez.
