Drew Dober vs. Rafael Alves added to UFC 277 on July 30

A lightweight banger is headed to UFC 277.

Drew Dober (12-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) takes on Rafael Alves (20-10 MMA, 1-1 UFC) on July 30, in a pay-per-view event rumored to take place in Dallas.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Monday but asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. MMA Fight Universe was first to report the news.

Dober snapped a two-fight losing skid with a first-round, comeback TKO of rising star Terrance McKinney at UFC Fight Night 203 in March. His past four wins have all come via finish.

Meanwhile, Contender Series graduate Alves has split his first two UFC appearances. After losing his promotional debut to Damir Ismagulov, the Brazilian picked up a first-round submission of Marc Diakiese this past November at UFC Fight Night 197.

With the addition, UFC 277 includes:

  • Brandon Moreno vs. Kai Kara-France – for interim flyweight title
  • Derrick Lewis vs. Sergei Pavlovich
  • Magomed Ankalaev vs. Anthony Smith
  • Mariya Agapova vs. Ji Yeon Kim
  • Paulo Costa vs. Luke Rockhold
  • Diego Ferreira vs. Drakkar Klose
  • Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Michael Morales
  • Don’Tale Mayes vs. Justin Tafa
  • Rafael Alves vs. Drew Dober
