10-0 vs. 14-2: Bellator 282 adds debutant battle Marcus Breno vs. Richard Palencia

Two top bantamweight prospects are set to collide in what will be both of their Bellator debuts.

Rising Brazilian fighter Marcos Breno (14-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and LFA bantamweight champion Richard Palencia (10-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) will square off June 24 at Bellator 282. The event takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. with a main card streaming on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie.

A promotion official informed MMA Junkie of the booking Monday.

Palencia, 32, is a former LFA bantamweight champion, who vacated his title when he signed with Bellator in January. A member of the MMA Lab, Palencia has an unblemished record as he trains with the likes of former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and others.

Breno, 24, enters Bellator on a two-fight winning streak with both of those victories by knockout. At LFA 111 in July, Breno picked up perhaps his most emphatic career victory when he faceplanted grappling ace Ary Farias to score a 56-second, one-punch knockout.

With the addition, the Bellator 282 lineup includes:

  • Champion Gegard Mousasi vs. Johnny Eblen – for middleweight title
