Burgers are the best medicine: KSW 70 winner brings injured opponent a cheat meal after graphic arm injury

By all accounts, Tommy Quinn had a rough go at KSW 70. While nothing but time (and perhaps some Percocets) will make his arm feel better, a good hamburger is always a medicine for lifting the spirits.

Two days after he suffered a gruesome, fight-ending arm injury, Quinn was surprised by none other than his opponent, Albert Odzimkowski – who brought some tasty treats as a pick-me-up.

According to Quinn, who is scheduled to undergo surgery for a dislocated elbow and torn ligaments and tendons, said Odzimkoswki traveled 200km (approximately 120 miles) to bring him the spread.

“What a guy and what a sport,” Quinn wrote in a Facebook post Monday where he shared a picture. “Fight each other twice, slams me on my arm, and comes to visit me 200km me [sic] and bring me food and treats. @albertodzimkowski folks, is a one off! Absolute gentleman. No other sport or occupation like ours. In such a ruthless nature you find the kindest of creatures.”

So yeah, how f*cking cool is this? We see it time and time again, the respect that’s built through stepping inside a locked cage to beat another man senseless. It’s a bond only those who partake in will really understand.

For every Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov, or Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier, hatred-filled rivalry, the prime examples of sportsmanship and respect will never fall out of style. Shoutout to both men for making a feel-good moment stem out of a nasty nightmare of an injury.
