UFC on ESPN 39 weigh-in results: Rafael dos Anjos, Rafael Fiziev official for main event

The weigh-ins are in the books for UFC on ESPN 39, and all 24 fighters on the card hit their marks.

In the main event, former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos (31-13 MMA, 20-11 UFC) takes on surging standout Rafael Fiziev (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC). Those fighters were the first two to the scale in the two-hour weigh-in window, eliminating the potential for any drama.

Dos Anjos weighed in first and was 156 pounds. Fiziev was right behind him and was 155.

Dos Anjos has won back-to-back fights after a tough stretch of four losses in five bouts. But those losses all came at welterweight to Colby Covington, current champion Kamaru Usman, upcoming title challenger Leon Edwards and Michael Chiesa – all by decision. Since his return to lightweight, he has wins over Paul Felder and, in March, Renato Moicano.

Fiziev has been on a roll since the lone loss of his pro career, which came in his UFC debut in April 2019. Since then, he has five straight wins and has post-fight bonus awards in four straight. This past December, he stopped Brad Riddell with a highlight-reel spinning wheel kick.

Friday’s official weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which airs on ESPN and streams on ESPN+.
