Yair Rodriguez couldn’t have rebounded from his first UFC loss in a more stunning and brutal way than he did in his fight with Chan Sung Jung.
Rodriguez and “The Korean Zombie” battered each other for almost all of five rounds at UFC Fight Night 139 in November 2018. In the final 10 seconds of their headliner, the two men stood in front of each other for one last flurry of strikes. That’s when Rodriguez caught Jung with an upwards elbow that landed flush on the chin to put him out cold and win by knockout with one second remaining.
The dramatic and incredible finish was chosen as MMA Junkie’s Knockout of the Year for 2018, and it remains one of the most spectacular knockouts in UFC history.
