UFC on ABC 3 main event: Brian Ortega vs. Yair Rodriguez

Brian Ortega (15-2, 1 NC) is one fight removed from his second failed UFC featherweight championship bid. He remains No. 2 in the rankings, hoping for a strong win to keep him in the running for another shot at champion Alexander Volkanovski.

Yair Rodriguez (13-3, 1 NC) has long been etched near the top of the 145-pound class, but a title shot has remained elusive. Though he fought former champ Max Holloway to a tough decision loss in his last bout, Rodriguez could earn a crack at the belt with an impressive win over Ortega.

The UFC on ABC 3 fight card isn’t stacked with marquee topping bouts, but does feature several fights that could shake up the official UFC rankings.

Michelle Waterson and Amanda Lemos square off in the UFC on ABC 3 co-main event, each woman hoping to edge further up the rankings. Matt Schnell and Su Mudaerji battle for a spot in the flyweight top ten. And former women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has been trying for months to make her flyweight debut. She should get her chance against Lauren Murphy on Saturday.
