UFC Nashville Loses Another Fight Following Umar Nurmagomedov’s Withdrawal

UFC Nashville saved one fight on Thursday and lost another hours later ahead of the August 5th UFC Fight Night event.

A light heavyweight matchup between Ion Cuțelaba and Ovince Saint-Preux is reportedly canceled due to undisclosed reasons. The report comes after the UFC saved the UFC Nashville main event; in which Rob Font will fill against Cory Sandhagen.

MMA journalist Marcel Dorff was among the first to report the news of the Saint-Preux/Cutelaba cancelation.

Cuțelaba most recently defeated Tanner Boser by first-round knockout at UFC Kansas City. The victory snapped a three-fight losing skid to Ryan Spann, Johnny Walker, and Kennedy Nzechukwu.

Cuțelaba has defeated the likes of Devin Clark, Khalil Rountree, and Jonathan Wilson during his UFC tenure. He made his UFC debut in Oct. 2016.

Saint-Preux, a former interim UFC title challenger, returned in February in a loss to Philipe Lins. His most recent win came against former UFC champion Shogun Rua at UFC 274 last year.

This is the sixth fight cancelation since UFC Nashville was announced earlier this year.
