UFC fighters and fans alike were praying to the MMA Gods that Nate Diaz would knock out Jake Paul. Over and over again UFC veterans entered the ring with the influencer-turned-boxer and all lost. Diaz was the next in line to defend the honor of legitimate combat sports athletes.
Fighters were not happy with the first few rounds from Diaz, expecting more from the highly-trained fighter.
One such fighter was the former foe of Diaz’s, Conor McGregor.
“Fuck this , sweetie what’s up,” he tweeted hinting at the woman (named Saweetie) who walked out Amanda Serrano in the co-main event.
Fuck this , sweetie what’s up

But then in the fourth Diaz turned on the switch and suddenly it was his round, not Paul’s.
Let’s go @NateDiaz209 !!!!!

In the fifth round, Paul dropped Diaz and was smelling blood but wasn’t able to get the fifth-round KO he’d predicted.
In the sixth round, Paul picked up where he left off but Diaz wasn’t giving up without a fight. This was a slugfest, absolutely.
Some fighters had issues with the commentary, as well.
Cmon @ShowtimeShawnP be fair with your commentary #PaulDiaz

This commentary is horrible 🤣 #DiazPaul

In the eighth round Diaz began landing some crazy combos which put Paul in danger but with the round winding down, it might have been a little too late.
Roman Dolidze just wanted people to know he WASN’T watching the fight.
Anyone watching Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz fight? Because I am not, I’m in mountains.

With a minute remaining in the round Diaz absolutely unloaded on Paul but wasn’t able to edge him on the scorecards.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Jake Paul defeated Nate Diaz via unanimous decision (97-92, 98-91, 98-91)
