Jake Paul dominates Nate Diaz in boxing match

Former UFC fighter Nate Diaz made his boxing debut on Saturday against Jake Paul at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Paul entered the bout coming off his first professional loss to Tommy Fury and looking to rebound.  His manager indicated that if Paul lost to Diaz that he may retire from boxing.  

Paul missed with a huge left hand early in the opening round.  He connects with a right hand that hurt Diaz.  Diaz holds on and the two separated.  Paul was clearly the faster fighter.  Diaz survived the round.  

Diaz took the fight to Paul in the second round.  Every punch Paul threw was to end the fight.  Diaz landed on the inside.  Paul went to the body.  Diaz fired back. The two exchange at the bell.  Round two was a close round.  

Diaz worked to take the space from Paul.  Paul connect with a big shot but Diaz absorbed it.  Diaz pressed forward landing peppering shots on the inside.  Diaz landed a combination.  Another close round in the third.

Diaz pressured Paul.  He kept his hands up.  Diaz starts to land more regularly.  Diaz connected with a right hand.  Paul responded with a left.  Diaz landed a combination late.  Diaz may have won that round.

Paul lands a short right hand early in the round.  Paul connected with a left hand that knocked Diaz down.  When Diaz got up, Paul poured it on.  Diaz weathered the storm.  Diaz went on the offense landing two left hands.  Paul won the round 10-8.

Diaz came out aggressive and Paul landed a couple of big shots. Diaz pressed forward.  He landed to the body and a left hook to the head.  Paul connected to the body.  Diaz tried to attack in the final seconds.  It was Paul’s round.  

Paul lands his jab to start the 7th.  He landed a straight right hand.  Diaz pressed forward and landed on the inside.  Paul tied him up.  Diaz connected with a combination on the inside.  Solid round for Diaz.

Paul used his jab to keep Diaz on the outside.  Diaz presses forward but Paul landed to the body.  Diaz picked up the pace.  Paul landed a right hand.  Diaz responded with a left.  Diaz connected with two uppercuts.  Diaz starting to land.  He landed a left hand and a flurry of punches to end the round.  Diaz may have won the 8th.

Paul landed his jab.  He’s outworking Diaz in the 9th.  Paul looked fresh.  Diaz pressured Paul.  Paul landed a hard right hand.  The round ended with both me looking at each other.  

Diaz pressured Paul and Paul landed to the head and body.  Diaz landed to the body.  Paul connected with a clean left hand.  Paul continued to land punches.  He started winding up his right hand.  Diaz went on the offense.  He landed a combination along the ropes.  Paul tied him up.  Once separated, Paul landed an uppercut.  Diaz looked to apply a guillotine choke momentarily.  The fight went the distance, but Paul won nearly every round.  

The scorecards read 97-92, 98-91, 98-91 for Paul.
