Francis Ngannou left with “Bitter Taste” after unfair judges’ decision

Just days ago, Francis Ngannou put on a spectacular performance in his boxing debut that shook up the world. Despite coming up short on the judges’ scorecards, the titan collided with Tyson Fury and has been the center of attention ever since.

Not only did ‘The Predator’ go the distance with a man believed to be one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, but he also did himself proud. After 10 rounds, two judges scored the fight for Fury, handing him a split-decision victory, but the general consensus is that the former UFC champion did enough to get his hand raised.

Two days out from the clash, Ngannou has aired his frustration toward the judges who decided to award his opponent the controversial win. Prior to his complaints, the Cameroon native detailed exactly what life has been like for him in the 48 hours since the matchup.

“It’s been exhausting, I haven’t really slept since Saturday night. [I’ve had] a lot of messages, a lot of calls, good stuff, you know?” Ngannou stated. “I haven’t really come down, like, the adrenaline is still coming down, you know, from the fight. I think I’m still processing.”

The 37-year-old then explained that it would likely be the greatest night of his life if he was given the nod by the judges; something he and many others believe he rightfully deserved.

“With the decision a little different, yeah, it would have been. It would have been the greatest.” Ngannou said in regards to Saturday being the best night of his life. “You know, with those judges being quite fair, it would have been. I mean, you can’t really think greatest with the little slight taste of bitter because, for some reason, I feel like there was an injustice there.”

“It was great, it was more than good, I just have a slightly bitter taste about it. Like, it could have been with a victory, you know? I wasn’t going there just to show up, just to like, ‘Oh, I’m here look at me here.’ No, I really went there to win the fight… I really worked hard for it and I think I deserve that victory. And I should have been celebrating that victory now.”
