Sean O’Malley thought Tyson Fury won

UFC bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley is one of the few UFC fighters, current and former, that thinks Tyson Fury beat Francis Ngannou this past Saturday.

O’Malley, like everyone in combat sports, watched the boxing match and felt like Fury ‘outboxed’ the former UFC heavyweight champion.

“Francis dropped Tyson Fury.  I, personally, I was kind of going to Tyson the whole time just because, I don’t know, I like to watch the show.  I was going to Tyson, so when I watched the fight I was maybe a little biased toward Tyson,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel.

“I thought he won the fight.  I thought, he got dropped obviously, again I might have a little bias.  I’ll have to rewatch it.  I just thought he outboxed him.  I thought he simply outboxed him.” O’Malley continued.  “There was a 10-8 (for Ngannou), but I thought he won the majority of the rounds… Like I said, I might have been a little biased.”

O’Malley wasn’t surprised that Ngannou did so well in the fight.  He has time to prepare and has dynamite in both hands.

“(Ngannou’s) naturally gifted, 100 percent, obviously.  Massive.  He hits harder than anyone.  He’s just got the shutoff in both hands and that’s all you can do in boxing.  I wasn’t expecting him not to be good.  He had months and months and months to prepare.  He’s naturally just an athlete.”

Conor (McGregor) did pretty damn well against Floyd (Mayweather Jr.) but ended up getting finished.  I think that was a 12-round bout.  This one was only 10.  It’s not like Francis was gassing, which is also impressive.”
