Conor McGregor, Jon Jones, Brock Lesnar, and more huge UFC salaries revealed

At all levels of the sport, there seems to be some problem with the pay some fighters receive while putting their lives on the line inside the cage. The UFC is the pinnacle of the sport and understandably pays the best compared to their competition and proof of that has now been revealed.

Recently, the UFC antitrust court documents were released to the public and two competitors raked in an ungodly amount. Conor McGregor is unsurprisingly the highest-paid athlete to compete in the UFC and some of his pay has been disclosed through several of his fights.

The heights of his time under the UFC banner saw him obtain a huge $6,812,374 for his lightweight title victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. His combined purse for both Nate Diaz outings was $11,191,805—while Diaz earned $7,153,648 for the two fights against ‘The Notorious’.

McGregor’s interim title clash with Chad Mendes earned him a $3,285,000 payout and his iconic 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo brought in either $4,476,662 or $4,536,932 for the Irishman. His combined amount earned for the five fights was an estimated $25,826,111.

Conor McGregor wasn’t the only big earner for the UFC, and two former WWE stars saw massive paydays for their time spent inside the octagon.

Brock Lesnar‘s purse for fights against Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt was revealed. The professional wrestling superstar collected £3,000,000 in his defeat to the heavyweight phenom. He made almost triple that in his UFC 200 win—though the victory against ‘Super Samoan’ was later overturned to a no-contest.

Former World Wrestling Entertainment standout CM Punk suffered a one-sided beatdown against Mickey Gall in his UFC debut but it wasn’t all doom and gloom for Phil Brooks as he made $1,042,736 for a little over 2 minutes of cage time.

Despite arguably being the best fighter in the world for many years, Jon Jones had to wait until his eighth defense of the light heavyweight title to get his biggest disclosed payment. ‘Bones’ got $3,637,500 for his historic win over Daniel Cormier at UFC 182.

Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, and Ronda Rousey were all part of the millionaire club for their dominance in the UFC. Check out more payouts at Bloody Elbow.
