Highlights! White’s Blue Chip Prospect Delivers Slick Submission

Promising bantamweight prospect Payton Talbott proved his worth earlier today (Sat., Nov. 18, 2023) at UFC Vegas 82 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the young fighter stopped Nick Aguirre via third-round submission (rear-naked choke) in a memorable Octagon debut.

Talbott, 25, made a big splash on Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this year. The Nevada native didn’t score a finish on the show, but he displayed enough over the course of 15 minutes to earn a UFC contract. White, who seems all-in on the blue chip prospect, voiced his praises after the fight. Check it out below:

On Saturday, Talbott made his awaited Octagon debut against an outmatched Aguirre. In fact, Talbott was the biggest betting favorite on the card, suggesting UFC matchmakers teed this fight up for him. Fortunately for those in charge, Talbott didn’t disappoint. He utilized his dangerous striking before gaining top control in the third and locking up his first-career submission finish.
